Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, white whole wheat flour, brown sugar, baking powder, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, ground allspice, and salt.
  3. Add the cold, diced butter to the flour mixture and blend until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  5. Pour the liquid ingredients into the dry mixture and combine gently with a spatula.
  6. Fold in the chopped apples, keeping them in larger chunks.
  7. Using a 1/4 cup measuring cup, drop the batter onto your prepared baking sheet.
  8. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 11-13 minutes.
  9. Once baked, remove the fritters and allow them to cool slightly while preparing the glaze.
  10. Whisk together confectioners' sugar, milk, and a splash of vanilla extract until smooth.
