  • 1 cup Whole Milk non-dairy milk for vegan option

  • 1 pound Crab Meat fresh crab meat is ideal

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Finely chop the fennel, celery, and yellow onion using a food processor. Set aside.
  2. Melt butter in a heavy saucepan over medium-high heat. Add chopped vegetables and sauté for 5-7 minutes until translucent.
  3. Stir in self-rising flour, cooking for 8-10 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  4. Add crab base, heavy cream, cooking sherry, half-and-half, and whole milk. Stir and bring to a gentle boil.
  5. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.
  6. Fold in crab meat gently, season with salt and pepper, and serve.
