Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Warm the water, milk, and unsalted butter in the microwave until the butter starts to melt, about 30-40 seconds.
  2. In a stand mixer, combine the warm mixture with eggs, sugar, flour, salt, and yeast. Mix on low for 8-10 minutes until cohesive.
  3. Gently add the chocolate chips and mix until evenly distributed.
  4. Transfer the dough into an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour until doubled.
  5. Punch down the dough, divide into 16-18 pieces, and shape into balls. Arrange on a lined baking sheet.
  6. Cover the rolls and let them rise for another 45 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) during the last 10 minutes of the second rise.
  8. Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack before serving.
