Step-by-Step Instructions for Soft Crescent Rolls
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Pour in the lukewarm water and oil. Mix until just combined.
  2. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for 10-12 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Place the dough in a clean bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Gently punch down the dough, divide into two equal portions, and roll each into a circle approximately 12 inches in diameter.
  5. Spread softened butter evenly on one circle, then place the second circle on top.
  6. Cut the stacked dough into 12 triangles and roll each triangle from wide to point.
  7. Place the rolled crescents on a parchment-lined baking tray. Brush with beaten egg and let rise for 30 minutes.
