Directions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Increase heat to medium-high and add ground beef. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, cooking until fully browned, about 7-10 minutes.
- Stir in tomato paste, mixing well for about 1-2 minutes. Then add crushed tomatoes and let simmer for 10 minutes.
- In a separate pot, bring water to a boil and cook the gnocchi according to package instructions, about 2-3 minutes until they float. Drain and set aside.
- In a large baking dish, combine cooked gnocchi with the bolognese sauce. Sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan cheese on top.
- Transfer to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and golden brown. Broil for an extra crispy top if desired.
- Once baked, cool for about 5 minutes, garnish with fresh herbs if desired, and serve warm.

Notes
For best results, ensure an even coating of sauce over gnocchi and consider mixing cheeses for extra flavor. Reheating in the oven preserves texture.
