  • 1 cup Chopped Apples Mix of tart and sweet varieties
  • 1/2 cup Toasted Pecans Can replace with walnuts

Method
 

Baking Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8x8 baking dish.
  2. Toast the chopped pecans in a small skillet over medium heat for 3-5 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Peel, core, and chop the apples into small chunks, set aside about one cup.
  4. Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, then beat in the egg.
  5. Sift in flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon, mixing gently until combined.
  6. Fold in the apples and toasted pecans until evenly distributed.
  7. Transfer the batter to the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 30-45 minutes until edges are golden and center is slightly soft.
  9. Allow to cool in the dish for 15-30 minutes before slicing into squares.
