Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Arrange the Saltine crackers in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  4. Melt the unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until boiling, then cook for about 3 minutes.
  5. Pour the toffee mixture evenly over the Saltine crackers.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes.
  7. Combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl.
  8. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the hot toffee immediately after removing from the oven.
  9. If using, drizzle melted chocolate and sprinkle with chopped nuts.
  10. Allow the toffee to cool completely at room temperature for about 30 minutes before breaking into pieces.
