- In a small saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a low boil over medium heat. Add the orange peel and cinnamon stick, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
- Carefully strain the infusion into your mug, discarding the orange peel and cinnamon stick. Add the black tea bag or loose-leaf tea and steep for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Stir in 2 teaspoons of brown sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract while the tea is still hot.
- Gently heat 1 cup of whole milk over low heat until warm. Pour it into the brewed tea, stirring to combine.
- Add a twist of orange peel or a slice on top for garnish. Serve warm.
