Step-by-Step Instructions for Horchata
  1. Rinse the rice under cold running water in a fine-mesh strainer until the water runs clear.
  2. Blend the rinsed rice with 4 cups of fresh water until coarsely combined.
  3. Pour the mixture into a large pitcher and stir in 2 smashed cinnamon sticks. Refrigerate overnight.
  4. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer to discard solid rice particles.
  5. Return the liquid to the pitcher and stir in 1.5 cups of whole milk, 12 ounces of sweetened condensed milk, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
  6. Serve over ice, garnished with ground cinnamon.
