Preparation Steps
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, salt, and sugar. Create a well and add warm water and olive oil. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for 1 to 1.5 hours.
- Cook turkey bacon in a skillet until crispy, then chop it. Mix with chicken ham, bell peppers, mushrooms, cheese, garlic powder, and oregano.
- After rising, punch down the dough, divide into 6 portions, and roll each into a 6-inch circle.
- Spoon filling onto one half of each circle, fold over, and crimp edges to seal.
- Beat the egg and brush over the tops of the calzones.
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3–5 minutes.
- Cook 2 to 3 calzones for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Remove and let cool a few minutes. Serve warm with dipping sauce.
