  • 1 tsp Salt Use kosher salt for better texture.
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper Freshly ground pepper will enhance flavor.

Equipment

  • large skillet

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet, heat over medium heat and add the ground beef. Cook for about 5–7 minutes, using a wooden spoon to break it into small crumbles.
  2. Once browned, drain any excess fat if necessary. Add the finely chopped onion to the skillet and sauté for 2–3 minutes, stirring frequently until soft and translucent.
  3. Stir in water, followed by the apple cider vinegar, yellow mustard, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well for 1–2 minutes.
  4. Reduce heat to low and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for 10–15 minutes while stirring occasionally to thicken the sauce.
  5. Once thickened, remove from heat and let the sauce cool slightly, about 5 minutes before serving it over hot dogs or other preferred dishes.
