  • 1 can Canned Cherry Pie Filling 21 oz
For the Glaze
  • 1 cup Confectioners’ Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Pure Almond Extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 splash Milk To reach desired consistency

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Add eggs, almond extract, and vanilla extract; mix well.
  3. Gradually incorporate flour and salt, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 15x10-inch baking pan.
  5. Press half of the dough into the bottom of the pan.
  6. Spread cherry pie filling evenly over the crust.
  7. Dollop remaining dough over the filling, allowing some cherry to peek through.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  9. Cool in the pan on a wire rack.
  10. Prepare glaze by mixing confectioners' sugar, almond extract, vanilla extract, and milk.
  11. Drizzle glaze over cooled bars.
  12. Allow to set, then cut into squares prior to serving.
