For the Base
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese softened, Philadelphia blocks recommended
  • 1/2 cup Sour Cream Greek yogurt or mayonnaise can be substituted
For the Flavor
  • 1 tbl Herbs (Thyme, Oregano, Basil, Rosemary) or a pre-made Italian seasoning blend
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder or use fresh garlic for a robust taste
  • 1 tsp Salt adjust to taste based on serving crackers
  • 1/2 tsp Red Pepper Flakes
For the Cheese and Vegetables
  • 1 cup Freshly Grated Cheddar or Melting Cheese Asiago for an authentic twist
  • 1 cup Roasted Peppers drained and finely chopped
  • 4 oz Salami or substitute with grated parmesan for meatless option
  • 1/2 cup Green Olives finely chopped
  • 2 stalks Green Onions chopped
For the Topping
  • 1/4 cup Sun Dried Tomatoes in Oil for topping
  • 2 tbl Parsley or Chives for garnish
For Serving
  • 1 box Crackers assorted, e.g., Jatz

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Prepare the loaf pan by spraying with cooking oil and line with cling wrap, leaving overhang.
  2. Mix softened cream cheese and sour cream until smooth, then add herbs, garlic powder, salt, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Fold in cheddar or Asiago, then add roasted peppers, salami, green olives, and green onions.
  4. Transfer mixture into the loaf pan, smoothing the top and pressing to eliminate air pockets.
  5. Cover with cling wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or up to 1 week.
  6. Remove from pan, top with sun-dried tomatoes and oil, garnish with parsley or chives, and serve with crackers.
