Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 415°F (210°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Peel and slice the apples into 8-10 thin pieces. Sprinkle with sugar and set aside.
- Roll out the chilled puff pastry on a floured surface and cut it into eight 4x4 inch squares.
- Place 4-5 apple slices on each pastry square and sprinkle a little sugar on top.
- Fold the pastry over the filling and press the edges to seal. Optionally, crimp with a fork.
- Whisk the egg and brush it over the tops of the turnovers. Add more sugar if desired.
- Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 15 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack, then serve warm.
