Preparation Steps
- Boil 4 cups of filtered water in a large pot over medium-high heat until it starts steaming.
- Remove the pot from heat and stir in 1 cup of dried hibiscus flowers. Let steep for 10 minutes.
- Position a fine mesh sieve over a pitcher and strain the hibiscus tea to remove flowers.
- While warm, stir in 1 cup of sugar until fully dissolved.
- Mix in 1/4 cup of fresh lime juice and stir to combine.
- Pour in 2 cups of cold water to dilute the tea to your desired strength.
- Blend the ripe mango until smooth and stir into the hibiscus tea.
- Chill the tea in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.
- Serve over ice cubes, garnished with fresh mint leaves if desired.
