For the Filling
  • 0.5 cup Brown sugar Light or dark can be used
  • 1 tablespoon Ground cinnamon Do not substitute
  • 0.5 cup Heavy cream Use milk if necessary
For the Cream Cheese Icing
  • 8 ounces Cream cheese Room temperature
  • 0.25 cup Unsalted butter Room temperature
  • 2 cups Powdered sugar Sift for a smooth consistency
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract Opt for pure extract

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Warming milk to 110°F, dissolve yeast in it, let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Mix flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and salt. Add butter to resemble crumbs.
  3. Incorporate eggs, yeast mixture, and food dye into dry ingredients to form dough.
  4. Let dough rise in a greased bowl for 1 hour until doubled in size.
  5. Mix butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon for the filling until smooth.
  6. Roll out dough into a rectangle, spread filling evenly on top.
  7. Roll the dough tightly and slice into 12 equal pieces.
  8. Let rolls rise in the pan for an additional 20 minutes.
  9. Preheat oven to 375°F, pour cream around rolls, and bake for 25-27 minutes.
  10. Mix cream cheese and butter, then add sugar and vanilla to make icing.
  11. Drizzle icing over warm rolls and serve immediately.
