Ingredients

For the Wrap
  • 8 slices Bacon Use center-cut for less fat or applewood for a smoky flavor.
  • 4 cups Lettuce Substitute with spinach or arugula if desired.
  • 2 medium Tomatoes Ensure they are well-drained to prevent sogginess.
  • 4 large Tortillas Warm slightly before use to enhance flexibility.
For the Secret Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil Enhances the flavor of marinated tomatoes.
  • 2 tablespoons Red Wine Vinegar Can substitute with apple cider vinegar.
  • 1 cup Mayonnaise Opt for low-fat or plant-based mayo for a lighter twist.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • mixing bowl
  • spatula
  • cutting board

Method

Cooking Instructions
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add your strips of bacon and cook for 6-8 minutes, flipping occasionally, until they are crispy and golden. Transfer the bacon to a plate lined with paper towels.
  2. While the bacon cools, slice your tomatoes in half and place them in a bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and red wine vinegar, sprinkle with salt and black pepper, and toss gently. Let them marinate for about 10 minutes.
  3. In a small mixing bowl, combine 1 tablespoon of the tomato marinade with mayonnaise, stirring until well blended to make the secret sauce.
  4. Lay a tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spread 1 tablespoon of the secret sauce evenly over the tortilla.
  5. Layer a handful of lettuce, crispy bacon pieces, and marinated tomatoes onto the sauce.
  6. Fold the sides of the tortilla inward, then roll it tightly from the bottom up to enclose all the fillings. Cut in half for easier handling if desired.
  7. Let the assembled wraps rest for 2-3 minutes to help them hold their shape.
