Ingredients
  

For the Strawberry Syrup
  • 2 cups Fresh Strawberries Sliced
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar Can be replaced with honey
  • 1 cup Water Fresh water
For the Tea
  • 4 bags Black Tea Bags Can swap for green or decaffeinated tea
  • 1 cup Lemon Juice Freshly squeezed
  • 4 cups Water Used for brewing tea
To Serve
  • 2 cups Ice Cubes Preferably larger
  • Fresh Mint Optional garnish
  • Additional Strawberries Optional garnish, sliced

Method
 

Prepare Strawberry Syrup
  1. In a small saucepan, combine sliced fresh strawberries, sugar, and water. Over medium heat, cook for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened. Strain and cool.
Brew Tea
  1. In a separate saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat, add black tea bags, and steep for 5 minutes. Discard tea bags and allow to cool.
Mix Ingredients
  1. In a pitcher, combine the cooled strawberry syrup, brewed tea, 2 cups of fresh water, and lemon juice. Stir gently, taste, and adjust sweetness or acidity.
Serve
  1. Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the strawberry iced tea mixture over. Garnish with mint leaves and sliced strawberries.

Notes
