Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream the softened butter and brown sugar together until light and fluffy using an electric mixer.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the mixture and mix until fully incorporated.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt together.
  5. Gradually combine the dry mixture with the wet ingredients until a thick dough forms.
  6. Fold in the chopped cherries and chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Scoop rounded balls of dough onto the baking sheet, spaced about 2 inches apart.
  8. Press extra chocolate chips and cherries into each dough ball before baking.
