  • 4 tablespoons Butter Salted or unsalted
For the Sweet Mixture
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar Adjust for sweetness
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
For the Topping
  • 2 cups Miniature Marshmallows Optional

Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Drain the canned yams and arrange them in a single layer in the baking dish.
  3. Cut the butter into small pieces and scatter over the yams.
  4. Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a bowl, then sprinkle over the yams.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven, add marshmallows on top, and bake for another 8 to 10 minutes.
  7. Let cool slightly, then serve.
