For the Toppings
  • 1 pound Ground Italian Pork Sausage Use pre-seasoned for convenience.
  • 6 ounces Pepperoni Sliced for easy layering.
  • 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese Essential for a comforting texture.
  • 1 cup Shredded Pepper Jack Cheese Substitutable with any preferred cheese.
  • 1/2 cup Pepperoncini or Banana Peppers Optional, but enhances flavor.
For the Dip
  • 1 cup Marinara Sauce Add crushed red pepper flakes for extra zest.

Equipment

  • medium skillet
  • separate pan
  • large baking sheet
  • Paper towel

Method

Cooking Steps
  1. In a medium skillet, heat over medium-high heat and add the ground Italian pork sausage. Cook for about 8 minutes until well-browned and crumbly, then drain excess fat.
  2. Cut wonton wrappers diagonally into triangles. Heat vegetable or canola oil until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Fry wonton triangles in batches for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  3. On a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper, layer crispy wonton chips. Add pepper jack cheese, followed by cooked sausage and pepperoni. Optionally, add pepperoncini or banana peppers, then top with shredded mozzarella.
  4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the assembled nachos for about 5 minutes until cheese melts and bubbles.
  5. Let nachos cool slightly before serving with warm marinara sauce for dipping.
