Step-by-Step Instructions
- Begin by placing 1 cup of softened unsalted butter in your large mixing bowl. Using an electric mixer, beat the butter on medium speed for about 2-3 minutes until it’s smooth and creamy.
- Gradually add in half of 8 ounces of pumpkin-flavored cream cheese to the whipped butter. Beat on low speed, then increase to medium, mixing for about 2-3 minutes until fully combined and smooth.
- Next, add the remaining pumpkin cream cheese, along with 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract and a pinch of fine sea salt. Continue mixing on medium speed for about 1-2 minutes until everything is well incorporated.
- Gradually introduce 2 cups of powdered sugar to the bowl, mixing on low speed to avoid a sugary cloud. Increase the mixer speed to medium and beat for another 2-4 minutes, or until the frosting reaches a smooth, spreadable consistency.
- If your frosting appears too thin or runny, place the bowl in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes to firm up for easier spreading.
