- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt until there are no lumps.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together 1/2 cup of softened unsalted butter and 1/2 cup of vegetable oil with 3/4 cup granulated sugar and 1/2 cup packed brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Gradually add in one large egg, 1 tablespoon of fresh orange zest, 1/4 cup of fresh orange juice, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and optional 1/2 teaspoon of orange extract, mixing on low speed until smooth.
- Slowly add the reserved dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
- Fold in 1 cup of white chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Drop rounded dough balls onto your prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until the edges are golden and the centers are slightly underbaked.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes
For a thicker cookie, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Store cookies in an airtight container with a slice of bread to retain moisture.
