  • 200 grams Paneer Firm tofu can be used for a vegan option.
  • 2 tablespoons Oil Ghee or plant-based oils work as substitutes.
  • 1 medium Onion Finely chopped.
  • 2 cups Tomatoes Pureed; canned can be used.
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger-Garlic Paste Or use minced fresh ginger and garlic.
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds Ground cumin is an option.
For the Spice Blend
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder Ground cumin may work in a pinch.
  • 0.5 teaspoon Turmeric Powder Can be omitted for milder hue.
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala Essential for authentic flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chili Powder Adjust to your spice preference.

For Garnish
  • 0.25 cup Fresh Cilantro Chopped.
For Consistency

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Marinate the paneer by rubbing salt and red chili powder over it and let it sit for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a large pan and add cumin seeds. Wait for them to splutter, then add onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Pour in pureed tomatoes along with coriander powder, turmeric, garam masala, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until oil separates from the mixture.
  5. Add water for desired gravy consistency, then gently add marinated paneer and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving hot with naan, rice, or paratha.
