  • 1 cup Cheese shredded, optional (Mozzarella/Cheddar)

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet set over medium heat, add one chopped onion, one diced green bell pepper, and two minced garlic cloves. Sauté for 7-8 minutes until soft and fragrant.
  2. Add 1 pound of crumbled ground chicken to the skillet. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and no longer pink.
  3. Sprinkle Cajun spice blend over the chicken while stirring continuously. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together 1 cup of tomato sauce, 1/4 cup of ketchup, 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, and 2 tablespoons of brown sugar. Pour over cooked chicken and vegetables. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place burger buns on a baking sheet and toast for 4-5 minutes until golden and slightly crisp.
  6. Fill each bun with the Cajun chicken mixture. Optionally, top with shredded cheese and serve immediately.
