Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Boil a large pot of salted water, add pasta, and cook according to package instructions. Reserve 1 cup pasta water.
  2. Steam broccoli florets for 5-7 minutes until bright green and tender.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet, sauté minced garlic for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add drained pasta and steamed broccoli to the skillet and toss together.
  5. Add lemon juice, zest, reserved pasta water, red pepper flakes, and salt. Stir for 2 minutes.
  6. Serve immediately, garnished with parmesan cheese if desired.
