  • 4 cans canned green beans drained
For the Glaze
  • 12 slices thick-cut bacon cooked until crispy
  • 1/4 cup butter salted or unsalted
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar light or dark
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder or fresh minced garlic
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper just a pinch

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Trim and blanch fresh green beans or prepare canned beans by draining and patting dry.
  3. Cook bacon in a skillet until crispy; reserve 1 tablespoon of bacon drippings.
  4. In the same skillet, melt butter and stir in brown sugar, soy sauce, and garlic powder until smooth.
  5. Spread green beans in the baking dish, pour the glaze over them, and sprinkle with crispy bacon.
  6. Bake uncovered for 30-40 minutes until the glaze thickens and bubbles.
  7. Cool slightly before serving to enjoy with various proteins.
