Step-by-Step Instructions for Apple Iced Tea
- In a medium saucepan, combine 4 cups of water, 4 tablespoons of loose black tea leaves, 10 fresh mint leaves, and 1/4 cup of sugar. Heat over medium-high heat and bring to a rolling boil.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer gently for 1 minute.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and carefully strain the tea into a measuring cup or pitcher using a fine mesh strainer. Allow the strained tea to cool for about 10 minutes.
- While the tea is cooling, fill two tall glasses with ice cubes to the brim and add 4 to 5 fresh mint leaves into each glass.
- Pour 1/2 cup of apple juice and 1/2 cup of the brewed tea into each glass over the ice.
- Stir in 1 teaspoon of freshly squeezed lime juice per glass and garnish with thin apple slices and lemon wedges.
