Instructions for Pistachio Puppy Chow
  1. Prepare the Cereal Base: Pour 5 cups of Rice Chex cereal into a large mixing bowl. Line a clean work surface with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a gallon-size zip-top bag, add 2/3 cup powdered sugar and 3.4 oz instant pistachio pudding mix. Seal and shake until well combined.
  3. Add Flavor: Open the zip-top bag and add 1/4 teaspoon almond extract. Seal and shake to incorporate.
  4. Melt the Chocolate: Combine 2 cups white chocolate melting wafers and 1/4 cup butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until melted and smooth.
  5. Coat the Cereal: Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the Rice Chex and fold gently with a spatula to coat the cereal.
  6. Combine with Coating: Transfer the coated cereal to the zip-top bag with powdered sugar mixture, seal, and shake to coat evenly.
  7. Cool and Set: Spread the coated mixture on parchment paper and let it cool completely for about 15-20 minutes.
  8. Serve or Store: Enjoy right away or store in an airtight container for up to one week.
